Burning Man 2026: You're at the Point Where Waiting Costs You a Bike

Eran Cohen

Burning Man 2026 (Axis Mundi) opens August 30 and runs through September 7. That's under seven weeks out, and if you've been putting off your e-bike rental, this is the moment that decides whether you ride a bike you actually wanted, or whatever's left.

Here's why this window matters more than it might feel like right now.

The popular models go first, every year

Our most-booked bikes, the Burner S2, S4, and B52, sell out weeks before pickup even opens. Not because we run a small fleet (we don't, we run 600+ bikes), but because thousands of Burners are making the same decision you are, right now, in July. By the time pickup season rolls around, what's left is whatever nobody claimed first.

September 3 is a hard cutoff

All pickups need to happen by September 3, 2026. That's not a suggestion. It's the last day our Sparks, NV warehouse can get a bike into your hands, inspected and playa-ready. Once that date passes, we can't guarantee availability, no matter how far in advance you originally planned to book.

If you're coordinating for a camp, the math changes

Camp coordinators face a harder version of this problem. It's not one bike, it's five, fifteen, or fifty. Group orders take longer to fulfill because we're allocating fleet inventory across every camp that asks, and group pricing (5% off at 5+ bikes, 10% off at 10+, custom quotes at 20+) is easiest to lock in early, before models in your preferred mix start going unavailable. If your camp hasn't sent a headcount and bike list yet, this is the week to do it.

New for 2026: the LED lineup and the newest addition to the fleet

If you're deciding between models, two additions are worth knowing about before you book:

  • Burner B52 LED: the dual-seat B52, now wrapped in full-perimeter LED lighting. If your camp does a lot of night riding or wants visibility built in rather than clipped on, this is the one to check availability on first.
  • Burner Spirit 3 Off Road: the newest bike in our fleet, built with knobby off-road tires for washboard and soft sand. A strong pick if your camp is further out from center or does a lot of deep-playa runs.

What to do this week

  1. Reserve your bike (or your camp's fleet) now, not at the last minute
  2. If ordering 5+, email sales@jagerbikes.com with camp name, headcount, bike mix, and pickup date
  3. Confirm your pickup date is before September 3

We've been doing this since 2015. Every year, the same pattern holds. The people who book in July get the bike they wanted. The people who wait until the last minute get whatever's left. Reserve your spot at jagerbikes.us/pages/playa, or reach out directly if you're planning for a group.
